With All Hallows Eve a week away, MacGuffin Movies will feature seven days of horror posts to countdown to the haunting holiday. Most will be movie reviews, with some obscure treats in the mix, but the week will culminate with a poster feature Oct. 31 for one of the most iconic horror movies in cinema history. Check back Thursday through Wednesday for new daily posts fit for frights ahead of Halloween, but to start, would you like to guess what poster is featured in the header especially for this occaison?

Mrs.Doubtfire?
Oooo close!
That picture is straining my brain — it looks familiar but I can’t dig it out of the memory cells yet!
Here’s a hint: It’s for a movie about a blood-sucking creature…
Oh … Oh…I think I can see the picture of a guy with a horrible looking brain thing with like tenacles on his face — am I warm? I CAN’T think of the NAME!
Nope! You’re overthinking my hint. Also this movie is VERY old. For instance, if it actually were a tentacle-faced creature, you wouldn’t have been able to hear its slobbering and snarling.
OK, fingers are crossed — those eyes and that eyebrow — could it be Boris Karloff’s The Ghoul?
This is a German film ….
Well, crap! I thought I had it. If it’s German, the picture reminds me of either The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or The Testament of Dr. Mabuse. Do I get 1/2 a price if one of them is right?
I want to say Caligari is close because I group this one in the same category. Think German, silent, and fangs.
Can it be … Nosferatu?
Huzzah!!!
Well, it was nothing — didn’t take too long, did it? LOL!
I’m glad you kept trying; I enjoyed the interaction!
